OVERVIEW
We're always on the lookout for new members and we help out in any way we can to
make you feel comfortable. However, this group is not for everyone. There are
behavioral conditions and requirements for each member of the group at each event.
Those conditions and requirements were necessary to gain the confidence of our
advisors and has allowed us to accept the honor of running security for 2 Band of
Brothers reunions and being invited to participate in numerous veterans events. We
take these benefits very seriously and will ensure that we retain them as long as these
great men are around.
EQUIPMENT PROGRAM
Don't have a ton of money to shell out, are a good candidate, and want to join the
group now? Well, we have a uniform and equipment loaner program. If you get your
jump boots, we can probably equip you the rest of the way while you piece your
things together. You'll receive loaner gear when you arrive at your first event and
return it when you leave the event. Most all of the loaner gear is for sale, so if you
like it and want it, you may buy it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you have to pay dues?
Yes. Dues go towards meals at events (we have our own kitchen and we always eat
together), maintenance on our tents and other group equipment.
What is expected of me?
As a member, you are expected to look sharp, be clean shaven, and keep your
assigned area clean, neat, and period correct at all times during an event.
How old do you have to be to join?
Age isn't necessarily as important as maturity. Some 30 year olds are immature and
not right for our group. If you are mature, ready to listen, and can be an asset to the
group, then we will gladly talk to you. Be aware that if you are under 18, some events
will not allow you to participate.
What kind of people are in your group?
We have guys from all walks of life, however, it seems most of them are either police
or military.
Do you guys drink alcohol at events?
Yes, some members enjoy 1 or 2 at an event, but getting drunk is forbidden. Also,
there is no under age drinking allowed. If you are looking for a place to drink yourself
silly for the weekend, keep on looking.
How many members do you currently have?
We currently have 32 members in the group (as of 8/28/06) even though we get
contacted on average of twice a week by people interested in joining. Most people
aren't willing to put in the extra effort required and move on to other groups after
speaking to us.
What do I have to do to join?
If you are interested in joining, are willing to represent the best of the airborne, be the
best re-enactor you can be, and want to meet some vets and have fun, then all you
need to do is go to the online e-mail form and send in your information.
